Thank you to all of my amazing SUPERHERO first graders and their families! The first week of school was a great success!
We spent the first day of school calming our nerves by reading a story called "First Grade Jitters" and mixing up some Jitter Juice. We also began learning our whole brain rules and practicing basic procedures in the classroom. Later in the week, we enjoyed attending specials, exercising for Workout Wednesday, learning our calendar routine, graphing gummy bears, and so much more! Ask your child about what his/her favorite part of the week was.
I'm proud to say that we have already had FOUR students achieve OFF THE CHART behavior! These students were able to "bling" out their clips for display on our Wall of Fame in the hallway and choose from the Reward Board in our classroom. Great job friends!! Keep up the awesome work!
Next week, we will begin working with more concrete concepts and begin diving into SOLs. Ms. Thomas will also begin teaching some lessons and helping me with assessments top determine student reading levels. It's going to be a busy week and I'm excited to share it with all of you!
